It is the simple things that we so often overlook to thank God for like the ability to breathe. Thanksgiving is crucial to living a full life.
I remember when my nephews and nieces were little. It was fun to hear one of them pray over a family meal. Inevitably, the prayer would be lengthy and detailed, thanking God for everything from the silverware to each and every person they knew, the dog and cat and on and on... We all smiled and had a warm and fuzzy feeling inside, but still generally stopped the prayer after five minutes when you could hear everyone scooting around in their chairs, trying to get comfortable.
Yet, Jesus said that we should be like a little child...for such is the Kingdom of Heaven.
So, let's stir up our "little child" and thank God for everything we can imagine today. I think we will all find ourselves walking a bit lighter, smiling a bit wider and more willing to love others with words of encouragement.
Love you all...

I was just reading Ravi Zacharias this morning, who was also talking about gratitude. He suggests that wonderment and gratitude are lost the older we get and the only way an adult can get back the wonderment which leads to gratitude is by knowing and enjoying Jesus. That's two reminders for gratitude in one morning....hmmmmmm....another lesson I think!
