Peace for Anxiety

We live in a world where being anxious and worrisome is the norm.  But there is a cure for anxiety.  It is found in Philippians 4:6-7.  "In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." (ASV)

The word "peace" according to www.blueletterbible.org, means:
  • a state of national tranquillity,
  • exemption from the rage and havoc of war,
  • peace between individuals, i.e. harmony, concord, security, safety, prosperity, felicity, (because peace and harmony make and keep things safe and prosperous),
  • of the Messiah's peace, the way that leads to peace (salvation),
  • of Christianity, the tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and content with its earthly lot, of whatsoever sort that is.
Peace comes from God.  It comes from a life bathed in prayer and offered with thanksgiving.  The peace of God rules over the mind...that is what "passeth all understanding" is talking about.  It guards both the heart and the mind where anxiety is created.

Determine to live this day without anxiety.  Walk in thanksgiving.  Walk in forgiveness.  Converse with the Holy Spirit and be quick to respond to His leading.  Receive the implanted Word of God.  Live abundantly.

Blessings...
